Keyshia Cole recently said that she was going back to the feel of her first album, with her new LP "Calling All Hearts." Teaser track "I Ain't Thru" was definitely in that vein; however, I was severely underwhelmed by the song. Follow-up ballad "Long Way Down" is a step in the right direction.
In fact, the song is nearly a flawless combination of the standouts on her first album and the superb productions on her second album. In the song, Keyshia proclaims that she "already had a betrayer, something like a player." Now she's looking for a new love. Fortunately, she feels that she has found that special person.
Even so, she is acutely aware that it's a "long way down from heaven" and doesn't want to take that road again. So she's working, and demands that her significant other works, to make their relationship work. If the rest of "Calling All Hearts" is as good as this cut then Keyshia Cole may very well be on her way to crafting another R&B classic album (ala her second album "Just For You").
